Peterborough’s Ahmadiyya community marks Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Peterborough’s Ahmadiyya Community joins in The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Peterborough served free food on the street at Hawksbill Way to local community to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Saturday, June 4.

The Ahmadiyya Community also visited Stanground C of E Church on June 5 after the Sunday service to provide refreshments to over 70 attendees at the service.

Prior to that they joined members of the local community on the afternoon of June 4 at Hawksbill Way near Football Stadium. The local community was invited to enjoy free food – Over 170 local residents joined the celebrations.

Hasib Zafar, President AMA Peterborough, said: “We are celebrating this special jubilee because Islam teaches loyalty to one’s country. We are grateful to God for the peace and freedoms we enjoy under the Her Majesty’s reign. It is our prayer that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is blessed with a long and happy life of joy and success and we congratulate her on her platinum jubilee.”
