Baitul Futuh Mosque Region Volunteers Help Local Causes

The Charity Walk for Peace (CWFP) was founded in 1985, with the aim to relieve the suffering of the poor, to promote peace, understanding and good will amongst people of all walks of life. CWFP is an initiative of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association – part of the UK’s oldest established Muslim community – Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is well-known for its motto, “Love For All, Hatred For None”.

The distinctive feature of the CWFP is that all organisers are unpaid volunteers. Recently, CWFP volunteers from Baitul Futuh Mosque Region in Merton participated in a nationwide campaign to help local causes. Food was donated to Wimbledon Food Bank and fruit baskets were presented to the senior residents of Manor House and Sutton Court Care Centre.

Marie Bannister, Registered Manager of Sutton Court Centre wrote:

“A huge thank you for lovely baskets of fruit perfectly put together. The residents will have great fun in peeling and cutting up the fruit as an activity.”

Dr Tayyab Mansoor, Baitul Futuh Mosque Regional Coordinator of Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association said:

“It is one of the basic teachings of Islam to serve humanity and promote peace so our volunteers will continue these efforts to reach out and help those in need, as it is our duty.”

To date, CWFP has raised over £5.2 million and distributed to over 500 UK registered charities. Details of CWFP initiatives can be found on its website https://charitywalkforpeace.org/.
