Hillingdon Muslims share message on women’s rights

MEMBERS of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Hillingdon were at the three-day Jalsa Salana at Alton, Hampshire, attended by 26,000 people, at the weekend. They were addressed by the community’s world leader, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, who pressed home the rights of women and the fight for true equality in his final address. It continued a theme of the convention when he presented examples of notable women from Islamic history who had achieved great feats. He reminded the community that the rights of women were protected by Quranic law and it was not for men to deny them those rights. Naeem Udin, President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hayes, said: “The Jalsa was very well attended and, while there were some restrictions on attendance, support was excellent. “We have received more than 120 messages of support from political, faith and civic leaders from across the UK, including Prime Minister Boris Johnson.”
