Oldham youth group raises funds for Liverpool Women’s Hospital

MEMBERS of Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) Oldham are raising funds for Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity.

The group has chosen to support the charity after an explosive device was detonated outside the hospital in a terrorist incident on Remembrance Sunday in November this year.

Emad Al Swealmeen, 32, detonated a homemade bomb outside the hospital just before 11am on November 14, killing himself and injuring taxi driver David Perry.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association has decided to raise funds for the charity in a bid to help and comfort more women across the North West region.

The Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity raises funds to enhance patient experience by providing services and equipment above what is normally funded by the NHS.

AMYA has set a target to raise £600 for the charity. If the hospital charity receives £500 it will buy multi-sensory equipment for its outdoor garden that will enable parents on the Neonatal Unit to take their baby outside to feel the sun and breeze on their face and develop their senses.

The group has set up a JustGiving page to support the cause.
